Parotta
Parotta is the most famous street food from Southern India. It is made with Maida( all purpose flour) and a lot of oil :)There are specific Cheffs who master the art of making parotta, its a bliss to see them make parotta fly in air and catch it :)
None can beat a traditional parotta..
however this is just an humble effort to make with wheat flour at home :)
Ingredients:
- Wheat flour - 1 cup ( make 1 parotta)
- Water -
- Salt - To taste
- Oil - 2 tsp per parotta
Recipe:
- Mix wheat flour and salt
- Gently add water and knead them together
- Add half spoon oil and make them non sticky dough
- Now make a ball from the dough
- Roll into a circle as big as possible
- Apply 1 tsp of oil and spread inside the circle spread
- Start folding like fleets from one edge. More fleets mpre layers in parotta
- Roll from one corner and keep them aside
- allow it to rest for 10 mins
- Now, take one piece and gently start spreading the rolled dough to circle. Very gently like as you touch a baby :)
- In a pan, toast the parotta each side until it starts to puff up
- Toast both sides until you see brown spots
- Once done, squeeze the parotta from corners to get extra fluffiness
- Try with famous Salna :)
