Most of the time preparing side dish for any tiffin takes time, if it has to be sambar.. a quick sambar comes in handy when you are tired or have less time.
Ingredients:
- Thoor Dhal - 1 cup
 - Water - 2 cups
 - Onions- 1
 - Tomatoes- 2
 - Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
 - Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
 - Coriander chopped- 1 small cup
 - Curry leaves - few
 - Vegetable (any) - chopped
 - Sambar powder - 2 tsp
 - Coconut grated - 2 tsp ( optional)
 
Method:
- In a pressure cooker, add dhal and water
 - Add chopped tomatoes , chopped vegetables and onions along with dhal (Pressure cooking veg makes it a little mushy so chop it accordingly.)
 - Add Sambar powder, turmeric
 - Add grated coconut (Optional)
 - Add coriander
 - Pressure cook for 3 whistles
 - In a pan, splutter mustard seeds and add curry leaves
 - Transfer to the cooker, mix well.
 
Tips:
- More tomatoes and less tamarind will give splendid taste to sambar :)
 - More it boils more the taste is :)
