Ingredients:
- Gooseberry - 3
- Red chilly - 2
- urad dhal -1 tsp
- Peanuts - 2 tsp
- Mustard seeds- 1 tsp
- Turmeric -1/4 tsp
- Salt - taste
- Oil - fry
- Cooked rice - 2 cups
- Curry leaves - few
Pre-preparations
Grate gooseberry leaving the seeds
Cook rice and allow to cool
Method:
- In a pan, add oil and splutter mustard seeds
- Add dhals, chillies, peanuts and curry leaves
- Add gooseberries
- fry for a min
- Add turmeric
- Add salt
- Fry for one more min and switch off
- Add rice to the mix and serve hot
This tastes similar to lemon rice but very healthy. I had to cheat telling its lemon rice to make my dd try this. Now she loves this taste :)
