Samosa is a yummy snack item especially during a rainy or a cloudy day. Munching on samosa while reading a book, isnt it awesome even to feel?😍
As we never use All purpose flour or Maida, here we make samosas with Wheat :)
Ingredients:
Dough:
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Oil -2 tsp
Stuffing:
- Onion - 1
- Potato - 1
- Cashews - few
- Salt - to taste
- Chilly powder or green chillies - 1 or 1 tsp
- Peas- 1 cup
- Oil - 2 tsp ( Sauté )
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Deep fry
- Oil - 2 cups
Recipe:
- Dough
- Mix the flour, salt together
- Gently add water slowly and knead them together
- Add water as required. The dough should not be watery ( water can be less or more depending on the wheat)
- Add oil to get consistency
- Keep Kneading until soft
- Keep aside
- Stuffing
- Boil potato and peas with turmeric and little salt in half cup water. Drain the water and keep aside
- Saute chopped onions with a tsp oil
- Add salt
- Add cashews
- Sauté until it is cooked
- Add the potatoes and peas
- Gently mash them
- Add chilly powder
- bring them together
- Switch off
- Folding inside dough
- Make balls from the dough
- Spread each ball into circles
- Cut the circle in half
- Now, in one half take a spoon of stuffing and keep in the center
- Fold one corner towards middle covering the stuffing
- Fold the other corner
- Gently press and seal the corners
- Deep fry the samosa in oil both side until brown
- Leave the samosa in tissues to aborb oil
- Serve Warm :)
