Ingredients:
- Raw rice - 1 cup
 - Moong dhal - 1/2 cup
 - Jaggery - 3/4 cup
 - Raisins - 1/4 cup
 - Cashews - 1/4 cup
 - Ghee - 1/4 cup
 - Milk - 1/4 cup
 - Cardamom - few crushed
 
Pre- preparations
- In a smaller pan add ghee
 - Add cashews, cardamom and raisins. Fry until golden brown.
 
Method:
- In a pressure cooker, add rice and dhal
 - Add 3.5 cup water
 - Pressure cooker for 4 whistle and then mash it smooth
 - In a pan, add jaggery and 1 cup water allow it to desolate and boil for 5 mins
 - Add the boiled dhal and rice mix to jaggery
 - Keep stirring
 - Add milk
 - Add cashews and raisins along with ghee
 - Serve when hot
 
Note:
Milk gives a flavor to the sweet pongal and makes it silky soft.
