Quick and tasty recipe which is widely prepared in marriages.
You can add ladies finger, drumstick, manathakali, sundakkai for this. I have added wonder berry/ manathakali.
It stays good for as long as a week refrigerated
Ingredients:
- Tamarind extracted -2 cup (2 gooseberry size)
- Sambar powder - 2 tsp
- Rasam powder - 1 tsp
- Gingely oil - 4 tsp
- Red chilly powder- 1/2 tsp
- Ghee- 2 tsp
- Manathakali / wonder berry- 3 tsp
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - few
- Turmeric- 1/2 tsp
- Salt- per taste
Recipe:
- In a bowl, add sambar and rasam powder with little water and keep aside
- In a pan, add gingely oil and splutter mustard seeds
- Add curry leaves
- Add tamarind extract
- Allow it to boil
- Add salt and turmeric
- Add powder mix kept in bowl
- Boil until it comes to half the quantity
- Switch off
- In a separate, add ghee and roast manathakali till it becomes crisp
- Add the roasted manathakali to the switched off pan.
Mix and eat with rice along with veggies
